Ok my box is almost perfect
I can set daylight saving entry and exit points, then set them in ram - works 100%.
I'm having a problem with the timezone. need to change 0 to 300. each time I do this, it resets back to 0 (even before I try to set it in ram.)

while comparing nvram I see a change at offset 0xAB8 ( & a bunch of others) when I change the second digit on the dyalight savings entry time.
since I can't change the timezone, I don't yet know where it's stored lol... still inching ever closer.

my problem is when I type in 300 minutes for 5 hours, then setram, the time on the box is not updated.
ok here's what I do
connect etc... reset 1 init getram 200000 40000 >select box time >change 0 to 300 setram 200000 40000
result - no time change on cable box
also, if I select 'box time' again from menu, the time is back at 0.
this can be observed even before trying to use setram
only way I can get the timezone right is by using a different nvram, but that nvram is useless.

This could indicate there is a bug. I will try to fix this. I use the time 480 and worked. Not tried 300,though.

The timezone change does update the ram, and is able to set the ram, and be read back.
After I unplug the cable box, the timezone is reset to 0, and ds is back to 1980 when I re-read the nvram. also time is totally off now, something like 3h40m, it's kind of random.
Perhaps the timezone offset is different in my nvram?
Just to be clear, I also wait for the cable box to pull the time from the cable stream.

Very strange. Anybody else has the same problem?

I Changed timezone successfully on a different box - 2244/1161 non-ph (CR). looked similar to a ph6.
Was able to connect this box, oviously only got the analog channels.
No matter what I do with the ph8 board I can't get the timezone to stick.
In the diagnostic screen, the unit also says "no timezone" I htink that's on the 1st option - general.

elvanwzrd, please try the new 0.422 to see if the time zone can be set. I just found anothe bug which can not set one of my PH6 board's time zone. 0.422 should fix it.
