digital channels that are CLR are in the "clear" meaning they are open to anyone with a connected box. non need to purchase or subscribe to. if you go into the box diagnostics and select current channel status, it will say CLR for status. premium channels will say ENC 12 or 10 usually.

Thank you soooo much! For explaining that. I completely get it now! I appriciate your help! With ENC if you have a box that you cloned that had subscribed to some ENC channels... is it possible to recieve them on the cloned box? thanks.

no beacsue the xc4000 chip plays the part of allowing premium channels to be decoded. that's why the ideal box to find is one from your area that had premium channels before and is just disconnected. for some reason when the cable company shuts off someone's box they don't shut off the channels just disconnect the whole box.

thanks. do you know with the SPI stuff will the xc4000 chip be cracked? would the xc4000 chip be accessed by bdm?
what about PPV? how does it relate to PPV? I thought you could have a cloned box and still get PPV?

as long as IPPV i senabled then yes you can order ppv's and clear them. the xc4000 uses the digicypher II system which will probably never be cracked. it's more of finding a way to make the chip think it should allow the channel. similar to the 3m programs used in satellite.

yes. box doesn't even need to be "hacked". as long as you can order ppv's with the remote, you can clear them later using the bdm software. just make sure you have bypassed the return signal or your purchase might go through before you clear it.
