I will post two firmwares that will send all the SPI command to serial port(ACF only). A Windows application will capture the data. You need a serial port cable to connect your PC to the box. Just waht to know if there is anybody interested in this. The format of the captured file will be explained so you can either analyze yourself or post here to discuss.

i'll give it a try but when you say serial port are you talking the built in serial port on the back of some models? none of my current boxes have one.

For the models that has serial port on back already. Worked on PH7/PH8 and some PH6. You need your own serial cable connect to PC and the serial port on the box.

OK, here is how to capture SPI to your PC. 1 Download 07.93 altered firmware. www.geocities.com/dctbdm/download/0793spi.zip Better use PH7/PH8 board. PH6 board might work. Use USB BDM to program to your target, (do not forget to add signature). Address $406000 length $AA000. 2. Download www.geocities.com/dctbdm/download/spicap.zipand www.geocities.com/dctbdm/download/SPISHOW.zip3. Hook up the serial cable with your COM1 of your PC and the box. 3. Run the spicap.exe. 4. Turn on your box and do whatever. 5. Stop application. 6. Run spishow and open the file captured by spicap ("SPIHKSIO.BIN). Please test these steps and see if it works. If not I will fix the description. The explaination of the output will explain latter.

has anybody had any luck getting this to work on a ph6 box? i loaded the firmware but when i run spicap the start box is grayed out. These boxes are useless. Look for SPIHKSIO.BIN after exit. Your PH6 should work.

yes you are correct. i knew what the output file should have been but didn't even try to open it. i assumed when nothing happend with the capture that it wasn't working. thanks.

yes it did work. i didn't realise it was working because the start button in spicap was grayed out. i didn't capture much, so i am going to try and hook it up again soon and try a few things.

don't take this the wrong way but......your question has nothing to do with this topic or this section of the forum. also what you are asking has been discussed here many times. good luck.
